I am Empty and Alone

I’m empty, heavy, lost, alone,
a heart of steel turned into stone,
this pain of loneliness I feel,
a wound that time cannot conceal.

How I wish to love once more,
like I had in days before,
to taste again love’s burning flame
and call out someone’s name…

Back when love was like a knight,
storming castles in the night,
reaching stars that burned so bright
with youth’s perfume and light.

Back when blossoms filled the air,
lemon trees beyond compare,
adorning beauty, soft and fair,
with passion everywhere.

Back when love was born at sight,
in a single glance, a spark, a light,
through the cracks inside the soul
it made the broken spirit whole.

It filled the emptiness inside,
lit the darkness we would hide,
turned the shadows into flame
and nothing stayed the same.

But as the years kept rolling on,
and silver crowned what once was young,
love would fade like winter’s breath,
a fragile dance with death…

Yet like spring it rose again,
through the ashes, through the pain,
like a blossom, pure and bright,
reborn into the light.

Love will die and rise once more,
like all life has done before,
singing songs beyond the skies,
echoed where forever lies.

And even when we cross the gate,
face the void or meet our fate,
dust to dust, in air we fly—
love will never truly die.
